Libray Information
Welcome to the Media Center
Hours: 7:45 am-3:35pm Monday - Friday
Battle of the Books
BOB is a TEAM for students who love to read and who are competitive. The books for the competitions are from the 2023-2024 South Carolina Junior Book Award nominees. Our 2023-2024 team has been chosen. Practices are held each Tuesday morning in the media center from 8:00am-8:30 am. Competitions against the other middle schools in F1S are conducted virtually and the schedule for Moore is below. The district winner is the team that scores the most points overall from all contests.
Checking Out Books
Students with a pass from a teacher may come during library hours (7:45 am - 3:35 pm) to check out books. You can check out two books at a time and keep them for two weeks before having to renew them. Click on the BOOKS AND EBOOKS tab for access to our catalog and sources for eBooks.
Chromebook Issues and Guidelines
Students with Chromebook issues need to ask a teacher for a pass to come during library hours (7:45 am-3:35 pm). You may also email Mrs. Lane (slane@fsd1.org) or Mr. Crowley (rlcrowley@fsd1.org). For access to the F1S device guide, click here and for access to F1S district technology resources for parents, click here.
Quad Time Activities
After eating lunch, students may choose to visit the media center rather than exit to the quad. Passes are required and are available from the teacher on duty. Students may come to read, use our stationary pedalers, work a puzzle, play a board game quietly with friends, use some of our building sets, choose a coloring book page, or participate in planned craft activities.

Life as a Lion Blog Post Guidelines
-
This is a Moore blog. Your blog should represent our school in quality, content, and tone. This is not a social media page where you just talk about you.
-
Blogs include both facts and thoughts about those facts. Back your opinions with facts. Credit where you found your facts.
-
Other students will be allowed to comment on your blog post. They may disagree with you. Please think about how this will impact your feelings before you submit a post. See the commenting guidelines for more information.
-
Although blogs are less formal than many formats, all blogs should be in complete sentences, have correct spelling and punctuation, and not include social media shortcuts (Example 4 for FOR, @ for AT, etc.). Proofread your post before you submit it.
-
Post NO personal information. Only your first name will be used on the post.
-
Both potential blog posts and potential comments must be approved before they are posted. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in your post/comment not being included. Also, your parents must have given permission for your work to be shared to a webpage on the Media Permission form filled out during registration before your work will be posted. Because of the number of submissions, you can expect a delay in your potential post appearing on the blog.
